The Fischer Farm Guest House was lovingly restored in 2005. It is a wonderful example of a traditional, heartland farmhouse with modern comforts and amenities.
The property is surrounded by lawn and has a deck at the rear, ideal for dining and watching the sunset.
Also on the property are two traditional red barns dating back to the 1800's. The color originates from when the Europeans first settled. Back then they painted the barns with lime, linseed oil and milk to protect the wood. Sometimes, they would add ferrous oxide (rust) to kill the fungi and moss. Rust kills the moisture that would otherwise be trapped in the wood.
